In the Parisian Art Scene, MIRA Is the Fair Putting Latin America on the Map
En la escena artística parisina, MIRA es la feria que pone a América Latina en el mapa (versión en español abajo)
This week, we are writing from MIRA Art Fair (13–16 November), a new initiative in Paris dedicated to contemporary Latin American art. Held at the Maison de l’Amérique latine in the city’s 7th arrondissement, the fair unfolds within a historic building that also serves as a cultural hub in the heart of Paris.
Manuela Rayo, MIRA’s founder, launched the fair after observing that “there were fairs dedicated exclusively to Africa, Asia or the Middle East, but none dedicated solely to Latin America,” as she told us in an interview last year, just months before the inaugural edition.
Now in its second year, MIRA feels both intimate and ambitious: grounded in shared histories while creating space for new conversations shaping Latin American art today. Below, we share some of our highlights from this year’s edition.
